Web Advisory Group
Charge:
The Library’s Web Advisory Group (WAG) convenes to advise, educate,
collaborate, coordinate, gather input, translate, and act as a sounding
board for the Manager of the Web Publishing Group (WPG). It has one
subcommittee, the Web Implementation Group
(WIG) (now defunct).
The Web Advisory Group:
- creates guidelines to ensure and promote OskiCat's public catalog principles
- reviews and implements minor proposed changes to OskiCat's public interface
- reviews and refers to the ILS Steering Committee, policy suggestions and major changes to OskiCat's public interface
- creates a vision and mission for the Library website
- defines the scope of the website
- defines roles and responsibilities
- decides priorities
- develops policies, procedures, standards and guidelines for the
website in concert with campus and University of California System
policies
- recommends best way to ensure ongoing evolution and viability
- recommends and oversees usability testing
- defines new tools to enhance user productivity and enable easy
compliance with procedures and standards developed
- creates task groups to pull in additional Library staff and users for
input on specific issues.
Membership:
Term: Committee members will serve for
two years. Appointments are staggered so that half of the committee turns
over every June.
Committee year: July - June.
To provide input from all shareholders, the Web Advisory Group will include representation from:
- Public Services Council
- each Subject Council
- Technical Services (Catalog Dept./Acquisitions Dept.)
- Library Systems Office
The AUL/Director for Public Services will be an ex officio member of this Council. The Manager of the Web Publishing Group is the Library Web Manager, and chairs the Web Advisory Group.
