Finding Materials on Course Reserve

Reserve books and course readings for upper division courses only are shelved at the Bioscience Library Circulation Desk.  Because of high demand, most course reserves have a two-hour loan period; please bring the call number of the item to the circulation desk so the staff can retrieve it for you.  To find lists of materials on reserve for a class, along with their call numbers, use OskiCat, the catalog of the UC Berkeley libraries.  You can search OskiCat by course number or instructor name.

Searching OskiCat

In OskiCat, click on the "Course Reserves" tab. 

To search by course name or number:

• Enter as much or as little of the course number or name as you wish. (Course names may be abbreviated; if you can't find an item using the course name, try the course number instead.)  For example:
  • chem 1A
  • Chemistry 1A
  • Music 75
  • introduction to the history of western music
    

To search by instructor name:

• Enter the professor/instructor's last name first.  For example:
  • Smith
  • smith j
  • Smith, Jane

A list of books and other materials on reserve for the course will appear on the screen; please write down the call number of the item you wish to check out, and bring it to the circulation desk.  If you find nothing in OskiCat, the class has no readings available yet.
