Finding Books Online
Numerous books are now available electronically, licensed for use at UCB. Some are included in publisher packages or as special subject collections. See the Bioscience Library's Electronic Books page for full-text collections such as ENVIROnetBASE, Springer E-books, ebrary, and Knovel Library.
Use Google Books to search within the contents of millions of books from publishers and libraries worldwide, then use OskiCat or Melvyl to find out if UCB owns the title. Full text can be displayed if out of copyright (published pre-1923); in-copyright books can be partially viewed as "previews" or "snippets."

Finding Dissertations
DISSERTATIONS & THESES 1861-present; 1997-present for some full text
Provides access to the full text of all dissertations from UC since 1997. The first twenty-four pages from all other dissertations for which images exist online are also available. Also included, with more than 1.5 million entries, is the Dissertation Abstracts International database.
