Reference Area

The reference area is to your left as you walk into the library. It includes the Reference Desk and the Reference Collection.

The Reference Desk: Come to the reference desk to ask questions about how to find books or journal articles, and get help on searching appropriate databases.  Reference staff members can also help you get started on a research project.

• Reference Desk Hours

The Reference Collection includes encyclopedias, dictionaries, atlases, and other reference sources. It begins with the call numbers A-QH on the shelves immediately behind the Reference Desk, and continues (QK-Z) on the shelves behind the public computers.

The reference area also includes the cookbook collection, printed indexes and catalogs, soil surveys, and folios (oversized materials).
