OskiCat is the UC Berkeley library catalog. It does not include some engineering-related libraries at UC Berkeley. All library users can find course reserves and renew items in OskiCat. UC Berkeley faculty, students, staff, and other UC Berkeley library cardholders may request materials from NRLF in OskiCat.

The Next Generation Melvyl Pilot is a collaboration between the UC Libraries and the Online Computer Library Center (OCLC). Holdings from all ten UC campuses are included.

Science and Engineering researchers should be aware that this pilot project does not include holdings from affiliated libraries like the Institute of Transportation Studies Library, Water Resources Center Archives, Earthquake Engineering Resource Center, or the Law Library. Many electronic books are also unavailable in Next Generation Melvyl. To search these collections, researchers should use the current Melvyl catalog. Users are encouraged to test the pilot system and offer feedback on how well it meets their needs.

Current Melvyl is the catalog of materials available from the libraries of the ten UC campuses. Most of the UC Berkeley affiliated libraries' collections are included in this catalog. UC Berkeley faculty, staff, and students may request materials not owned by UC Berkeley through the Request button in Melvyl.

WorldCat (libraries worldwide)

WorldCat is a library catalog for materials owned by libraries worldwide. UC Berkeley faculty, staff, and students may request materials not owned by UC Berkeley through the Request option in UC-eLinks.

E-Books (electronic books online)

Google Book Search
Access full-text books that are out of copyright and view excerpts from books that are still under copyright; use the "Find this book in a library" link to locate a copy at a local library. Includes UC Berkeley books scanned for the Google Library Project.

Internet Archive: Text Archive
Open Access books from libraries and individual collections. Includes UC Berkeley books scanned by the Internet Archive.

National Academies Press
Access to full-text PDFs of books and reports from the National Academy of Sciences, the National Academy of Engineering, the Institute of Medicine, and the National Research Council.
