EndNote Tips for Engineering Databases:
Importing from Web of Science
Direct Export
In Web of Science:
- Mark relevant records to create a Marked List
- Click on the Marked List button at the top of the screen
- Select additional fields to include (e.g., abstract)
- Click on the Save to EndNote, RefMan, Procite button on the bottom of the screen.
EndNote should open automatically — select a library and the records will download themselves.
Save & Import
In Web of Science:
- Mark relevant records to create a Marked List
- Click on the Marked List button at the top of the screen
- Select additional fields to include (e.g., abstract)
- Click on the Save to File button
- Save the records as a text file (e.g., wos.txt)
In EndNote:
- Choose Import from the File menu
- Click on the Choose File button and select the text file
- Select the Web of Science (ISI) filter from the Import Option menu
Note: If necessary, use Other Filters... to find it
