What's NewDelicate Blossoms and Twining Vines: Botanical Themes in South Asian Art Flowers and plants have long been among the design elements used by the artisans of South Asia. From fine art such as painting and manuscript illumination, to practical arts such as pottery and carpet-making, botanical themes run through the region’s artistic heritage. An exhibit housed in the South/Southeast Asia Library's reading room display case includes a small sampling of the rich diversity of such images found in the art of the subcontinent. It will be available for viewing during our open hours until December 17.
