Berkeley has several methods of accessing demographic and consumer data from the Census, Bureau of Labor Statistics, and other government and private sources.  Below are a few most recommended by the Business Library.

SimplyMap

SimplyMap allows users to create maps and tables based on a wide range of data, including employment, demographics, real estate, housing, businesses, consumer spending, and consumer profiles.

American Factfinder (Census browser)

American FactFinder is the Census Bureau's portal to decennial census and American Community Survey data. Find detailed demographic and housing information by state, county, and ZIP code.

Bureau of Labor Statistics

The BLS gathers data about the economy, including workers, consumers, industries, and prices.  The bulk of their data is available through the "Databases and Tables" section of their website.

• SBRNet (Sports Business Research Network)
  Contains data, research, and articles about the sports and sporting goods industries. It includes data on recreational participation, sales of sporting goods, attendance at professional sporting events, and more.
  
• Mintel Reports
  Mintel provides market research reports, primarily on consumer industries.
  
• MarketResearch Academic
  Includes more than 600 market studies covering healthcare, financial services, demographics, consumer products, medical equipment, and more.
  
• IBIS World Industry Market Research
  25-40 page research reports on hundreds of U.S. industries.
  
• Business Monitor Online
  Provides quarterly, updated market forecast reports on 14 industry sectors in 55 countries.
  
• Gartner
  Provides in-depth market research on information technology industries, including computer software, hardware components, and wired and mobile telecommunications. Note: available only via a CalNet ID.
  

• Local Market Audience Analyst
  Generates reports and maps showing demographics, consumer preferences, and lifestyles by U.S. county or metropolitan area. Only works with Internet Explorer.
  
• ProQuest Statistical Insight
  Provides access to indexing and statistical tables from three key sources: American Statistics Index (ASI; 1973-present), Statistics Reference Index (SRI; 1980-present), and Index to International Statistics (IIS; 1983-present). Full text for SRI (which is the most business-oriented) only available on microfiche.

  Contains domestic and international survey data.
  
• American Factfinder (U.S. Census Bureau)
  Interactive, searchable database used to find population, housing, industry and business statistics from the U.S. Census.
