Recent annual reports and financial disclosure information for public companies is readily available on the web at sites such as Yahoo Finance and Google Finance.  For Security and Exchange Commission-required filings, including 10Ks and 10Qs, see the SEC's EDGAR database for free access to all SEC filings.

Disclosures and annual reports not available through these sites can be accessed either by using one of the databases below (1994-present, with some historical coverage available through Proquest Historical Annual Reports) or by accessing the microfiche collection in the Business Library (pre-1995).

• Mergent Online
  Mergent -- Company profiles, financial statements, annual reports and SEC filings for public companies for the past 15 years. More info.
  
• Factiva
  Factiva -- Company profiles, news, trade publications, and much, much more. More info.
  
• Business and Industry Database
  RDS Business and Industry -- use this to search trade journals for news, rankings, statistics, etc. More info.
  
• Historical Annual Reports
  Includes over 800 companies' annual reports available as searchable pdf images. Includes financial data, Fortune 500 ranking, industry classification, key people, geographic location, and more.
  
• Value Line Research Center
  Full access to investment information by way of several Value Line products including: the Investment Survey; Mutual Fund Survey; Daily Options Survey; and more.
  

• Hoover's Online
  Over 1,800 company profiles and industry descriptions.
  
• VentureXpert
  A database of private equity and venture capital deals, including details on firms, funds, and portfolio companies. Works best with Internet Explorer
  
• Reference USA
  Includes basic profiles of over 13 million U.S. companies.
  

• Investment bank analyst reports from Thomson Research/Investext offer a look at a company's past performance and predicitons of how it will perform in the future. Thomson Research/Investext works best with Internet Explorer.
• OneSource Global Business Browser includes analyst reports.  Click on "News and Reports" to search by company or brokerage.  (If you do not know your OneSource login information, follow the instructions for recovering a lost password, using your Berkeley address.)

Industry Information databases provide big-picture information on industries: key players and segments, performance indicators, analysis of past performance and projections for the future.
