Ratios -- Data Sources
In addition to the databases below, also find ratio data forsmall companies:
Financial Studies of the Small Business Financial Research Associates. Annual (ends in 2006). Data selected from over 30,000 financial statements of small firms, contributed by over 1,500 independent CPA firms nationwide. Covers firms with total capitalization under $1 million. Also note that Yahoo Finance calculates some ratios and is freely available.
Mergent Online Provides financial information on U.S.and international companies.
Factiva Ratio Comparison Reports show key financial ratios for a company compared against industry, sector and S&P 500 Index aggregate ratios. To access Ratio comparison Reports, click on the Companies/Markets tab at the top of the homepage, then click on Company at the top of the page. Search for a company, then click Reports on the left-hand side of the page. Finally, under the drop-down menu for reports, click on Ratio Comparison Report.
LexisNexis Academic Find a downloadable table showing key ratios for the past few years. To access ratios, click on the Business tab at the top of the Lexis homepage. Search for a company then click Financial Information in the Reports menu on the left-hand side of the page
Value Line Research Center Use Value Line to retrieve a one-sheet company analysis that includes key ratios.
Investment Advisory Services
Mergent Online Provides financial information on U.S.and international companies. Look up companies' performance for the past years. Use data from SEC disclosures to create custom tables.
Thomson Research Investext Analyst reports from investment banks. Note: works best with Internet Explorer.
Value Line Research Center Full access to a classic source for investment information. Incluedes several Value Line products:the Investment Survey; Mutual Fund Survey; Daily Options Survey; and more.

Global Financial Data (GFD) Contains long runs of historical data (over 6,000 series) on security markets and macroeconomic trends for over 150 countries.
ProQuest Statistical Insight Provides access to indexing and statistical tables from three key sources: American Statistics Index (ASI; 1973-present), Statistics Reference Index (SRI; 1980-present), and Index to International Statistics (IIS; 1983-present).
Proquest Statistical Datasets Provides fast and easy one-stop shopping to more than 5.3 billion (and growing) data points from licensed and public domain datasets.

Public Company Financial Disclosures and Reporting
Recent annual reports and financial disclosure information for public companies is readily available on the web at sites such as Yahoo Finance and Google Finance. For Security and Exchange Commission-required filings, including 10Ks and 10Qs, see the SEC's EDGAR database for free access to all SEC filings.
Disclosures and annual reports not available through these sites can be accessed either by using one of the databases below (1994-present, with some historical coverage available through Proquest Historical Annual Reports) or by accessing the microfiche collection in the Business Library (pre-1995).
