
The Group in Asian Studies (GAS) is an interdisciplinary undergraduate and graduate program in humanities and social sciences with over 70 affiliated faculty members in 20 departments of Letters & Sciences and professional schools engaged in teaching and research about Asia across campus. GAS is augmented by the programs of five major area centers that offers lecture series, annual conferences, and events during the academic year. The C.V. Starr East Asian Library and the South/Southeast Asia Library provide the primary vernacular research and teaching needs of Asian studies along with other libraries on campus.

The Asian Studies Collection covers primary and secondary sources related to the interdisciplinary undergraduate and graduate program in humanities and social sciences in western and Asian languages of all possible formats. They are located primarily at the C.V. Starr East Asian Library, the South/Southeast Asia Library, and Doe/Moffitt Libraries.
