Funding for Graduate Students in the Social Sciences

Grant Forward, former IRIS ( University of Illinois Researcher Information Service) is a new grant funding database. Grant Forward is available to UC Berkeley through the campus subscription to the service. Grant Forward can be accessed directly from a campus computer or from an off-campus computer by first setting up an account.

Searching Grant Forward is similar to search Pivot, but the names of the "filters" are different. To find funding for research, for example, use Opportunity Type. To find funding for graduate students, use the Applicant Type.

Like with Pivot, you can use Grant Forward on the Berkeley campus even if you aren't logged in. But signing up gives you additional features (like alerts) and allows you to access from anywhere.
