Computers in the Doe & Moffitt Libraries
Computers with access to library resources and the Internet are available in various locations. UC Berkeley students, faculty, and staff doing research are given priority for use. Information about use privileges and responsibilities is available from the UC Berkeley Library Computer Use Policy and the UC Berkeley Computer Use Policy. All computers require a CalNet ID for unrestricted Internet access.
Workstations are equipped for sound. You are encouraged to bring headphones (mini plug type) if you require audio. Moffitt's Circulation Desk has a few sets for local use that may be checked out (students, faculty and staff only). For information on assistive technology in the UCB libraries visit the disability resources webpage.

Printing & Downloading
Printing is available from library workstations, and from dedicated bookscan stations. All printing requires payment via the Cal 1 Card system. For full details, see the Library printing and scanning page (cost/payment, location, capabilities). The Moffitt Library houses a full service Copy Center, which provides expanded copy services and alternate payment options.
Downloading is possible to USB flash drives from library workstations. Uploading from removable media is not possible due to security restrictions. Users who need to aquire a drive, can do so at the Moffitt Copy Center (Moffitt Library, Third Floor, Room 321 | 510/643-7427) .
Word processing, standard desktop applications and scanners
Word Processing and other applications are available in the Moffitt Microcomputer Facility. Use requires a CalNet ID; those without a CalNet ID requiring general computer use are advised to visit a commercial service near campus. Printing is also available within the Microcomputer Facilty (B&W/color) and requires adding printing credit via your Cal 1 Card.
AirBears
AirBears wireless laptop connections are available broadly, throughout the Doe & Moffitt Libraries and Gardner Stacks. Use requires a CalNet ID. Please note, the Library does not provide AirBears guest accounts.
AirBears' website provides setup instructions for wireless access to the campus network. Technical support is available for students at the Student Computer Consulting Service (1st floor Moffitt), for faculty and staff via phone @ 642-8500 (select option # 1 telephone & network support, submenu # 2 data network).
Off-campus access
Off-campus access is available to most online library resources, such as library catalogs and article databases (requires CalNet ID). The Library guide, Connecting from Off Campus, discusses setup options for off-campus access.
Library-wide information on computing resources is available via the guide to Computers in the Libraries.
