Find Video and Audio
Videos and sound recordings owned by libraries are listed in library catalogs.
Some moving images and sound materials are also accessible through the Media
Resources Center web site.
OskiCat (UC Berkeley)
OskiCat is the catalog of materials in UC Berkeley library
collections, including videotapes, DVDs, audiotapes, audio CDs and other
media. The largest collection of media is available in the Media
Resources Center (Moffitt Library, floor 1).
- For video formats, limit your search to "film/video/slides."
- For audio formats, limit your search to "sound
recordings."
- For online recordings, limit your search to "computer files."
- Search for directors and artists as a "author."
- Search for documentary and media subjects using "keyword."
MRC Collections
View lists of movies available at the Media Resources Center by title, director, genre, theme, language or country,
and date or era. View documentaries by topic or discipline.
Image and Sound Databases
Use image and sound databases to find photographs, paintings, other images, and materials in audio or visual format.
Melvyl (all UC campuses)
Melvyl is the catalog of materials available in the libraries
of the ten UC campuses and other research collections in the state. Current
UC Berkeley students, faculty, and staff may request materials not owned by UC Berkeley
through the online Request feature in Melvyl. There may be restrictions
on borrowing media from other campuses.
