The University Librarian issues annual reports to document and promote the depth and breath of library services and collections to our many communities. As University Librarian Thomas C. Leonard wrote in 2001, an annual report "... is not intended simply to be a summary of achievements. To me, it is more a conversation between the Library and its friends. Each of the scores of collections on campus is a special environment for learning. Students, faculty, independent scholars, and general readers come to us with different habits of mind." Equal to the scope of library services and collections is the significant breadth and generosity of the Library's support from students, alumni, and friends, as well as corporations and businesses. More than 6,000 donors each year contribute to Library programs. This includes invaluable support from many class and reunion gifts. Please enjoy this glimpse into the growth and development of the UC Library, as created by a superb and dedicated staff.
