![]() | David Duer has been involved with development for most of his career including 12 years with non-profit organizations and independent schools, and 25 years in the University of California System. Prior to joining the Library in 2000, he spent almost 4 years as the Chief Development Officer for the UC Davis Health System in Sacramento, and 10 years with the UC Berkeley College of Engineering. He has a BA from UC Berkeley, and a MS from the University of Southern California. Active as a volunteer, Dave recently served for an eight year period on the West Contra Costa Unified School District Bond Oversight Committee, and he currently serves as District 1 Commissioner for the Contra Costa County Arts and Culture Commission. He also serves on the Library Cabinet, the FSM Cafe Program Committee, and the Berkeley Campaign Management Team. |

![]() | Wendy Hanson's responsibilities at the library's development office include managing the Library's annual fundraising program involving solicitations of contributions from friends, alumni, students, faculty, and staff; donor stewardship; and promoting the activities and programs of the University Library through the coordination of special advancement events and special library-related projects. Wendy joined the Library Development Office in 1989. She previously worked for 7 years in UC Berkeley's Office of University Relations, and for 2 years at UC Hastings College of the Law. Wendy earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Cal in 1980, and is proud to be a fourth generation Cal graduate. |

She is a proud graduate of the California State University system, with a BA from Sacramento State and an MPA from San Francisco State, and is very excited to be part of the Cal family. Beverly's responsibilities include donor stewardship and event coordination, and she strives to make all the Library's friends feel welcome and appreciated. In her spare time she enjoys outdoor activities; volunteering with her favorite local organizations One Brick and the California Shakespeare Theater; and of course, reading. |

![]() | Deborah Maxon manages the Library's major gift programs and corporate and foundation programs, including special initiatives and projects, volunteer and donor relations, and stewardship. She has been involved with development and public affairs for most of her career, including 6 years on the staff of a U.S. Senator and 18 years with the University of California System. Prior to joining the Library Development Office in 2008, she spent three years as a Senior Development Director in UC Berkeley’s Office of University Relations, and fifteen years in the UC Office of the President’s University and External Affairs office. Deborah is a proud alumna of UC Berkeley and the University of Wyoming. |

| Linda Ann Tran assists with any clerical or administrative tasks at the Library Development Office. Her primary responsibilities include processing gifts and pledges made to the University Library. She also maintains the donor and fund records, strengthening the communication between the Library and its supporters through seasonal acknowledgment letters. While Linda enjoys spending her time at the Library, she is constantly engaged in K-12 public school education through teaching or tutoring around the Bay Area. |

![]() | As University Librarian, Tom Leonard manages Doe, Moffitt, and Bancroft Libraries, as well as over a dozen subject specialty libraries. Since assuming his position in 2001, he has overseen the building of the new Jean Grey Hargrove Music Library and of the new C.V. Starr East Asian Library. He is a professor in the Graduate School of Journalism, and has published several books on the role of the press in society and the origins of modern American journalism. Leonard earned a 1973 Ph.D. in history from Berkeley, and joined the faculty at Berkeley's School of Journalism in 1976. |
