Giving to the Mathematics Statistics Library
The Mathematics Statistics Library welcomes gifts in all forms. Many private donors have made contributions toward the acquisition of research materials for the use of Berkeley faculty and students. This support is very important in sustaining the excellence of our collections and services.
The following methods of giving are available:
Cash Gifts Financial support provides funding for books, online resources, specialized equipment, or special projects. Gifts may be unrestricted or support a specific library program or collection. Contributions of any amount are welcome.
Memorial Gifts and Gifts in Honor of a Person or Event Contributions given in memory or in honor of a person or to mark a special occasion such as a graduation are recognized with a bookplate. A named book fund can be established for a gift of $1,000 or more.
Endowments Endowment funds may be established with a gift of $50,000 or more. These funds provide the library with an annual income in perpetuity and have a lasting impact on creating a world class collection in mathematics and statistics. The University invests its endowments carefully to achieve a healthy rate of return that provides for both current needs and long-term growth. A special book plate will be created and placed in each book.
Donating Books Gifts of scholarly materials have historically represented a significant element in the development of our outstanding research collections. We welcome individual gifts of books and collections, but due to space and staff limitations, we must be judicious in accepting large contributions. Contact about the materials you wish to donate.
Donors should be aware that the materials offered may be duplicates or outside the scope of the collection. In these cases, the materials may be sold and the proceeds used to purchase other materials for the collections.
Contribute Online or By Mail Make a donation directly to the library using the online form. In the Special Instructions for this gift section, specify that it is for the Mathematics Statistics Library.
Or send a check, made payable to the UC Regents/Mathematics Statistics Library, with instructions regarding the donation to:
