About the InstituteFrom 2003 to 2007, each year up to fourteen UC Berkeley faculty were selected to participate in the Mellon Library/Faculty Fellowship on Undergraduate Research. The Fellowship year began with an intensive two-week Institute held on campus, followed by special events throughout the year. During the Institute, Fellows discussed a range of topics related to developing effective undergraduate research-based activities and assignments. In partnership with consultants from the University Library, Office of Educational Development, Graduate Student Instructor Teaching and Resource Center, and Educational Technology Services, Fellows developed a research assignment during the Institute that challenged undergraduates to use the Library's print and digital resources while engaging in the process of scholarly discovery.
