PRESERVATION MICROFILMING SERVICESThe Preservation Microfilming Lab provides 35mm silver film copies of books, manuscripts, newspapers, and other library materials from the collections. These films are produced to meet published standards such as those issued by ANSI/ISO and the Research Libraries Group. Microfilm work is done either as part of library-funded projects or as jobs for other institutions. Contact the Preservation Microfilming Lab staff for information on services. HISTORYMicrofilming services in the library appear to have begun on a regular basis in the early 1940s, and have been offered continuously since that time. Many rare, unique, and endangered materials have been preserved and the vast majority of these materials are still available as master negatives, copies of which are ordered by institutions around the world. In addition to the steady stream of in-house jobs, the Preservation Microfilming Lab has completed a number of large projects under the auspices of the National Endowment for the Humanities, the Research Libraries Group, Title IIC, the Mellon Foundation, etc. PRICE LIST :STAFF:, Unit Head
