Course Reserves
Instructors: Placing materials on reserve.
Materials "on reserve" are items such as books or articles that an instructor has designated for use by students
enrolled in a specific course. Some courses will not have any designated
reserve materials.
All reserve material checked out must be returned or renewed by the time stamped
on the due date slip. Reserve material shelved at the circulation desks
generally can be checked out for two hours; these items are available only
to current UC Berkeley students, faculty and staff. Reserve materials
shelved in the stacks can be checked out for one day.
Reserve materials may be available in one of a number of library
locations or online. To determine the availability and location of reserve
material for a specific course, search OskiCat and bSpace.
OskiCat (for print reserves)
For Course Reserves:
- Enter the library catalog OskiCat.
- Click the Course Reserves tab.
- To search by Department and Course Number, type "department abbreviation +
course number"
Example: Hist 7B
- To search by Instructor, type "instructor's last name"
Example: Litwack
- Note the library location and call number to request the item at the
circulation desk. Items listed "in process" are not yet
available.
